Flight 93 Memorial Quilt

United Flight 93 Quilt was dedicated on Sept 11, 2009 at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA.
Barbara Black of the National Parks Service accepted the quilt on behalf of the families.

United Flight 93 Quilt Team was lead by Pamela Hoard, Cadillac, MI. Northstar Quilt Guild members constructed
the quilt. Members are as follows: Marlene Kramer, Nancy Edenberg, Diana Senyk, Sue Kilmer and Leslie Schliep.
Leslie performed the machine quilting. Also included in the planning group are: Teri Anderson and Michele Bemier.
Pam Steele of Washington IL. embroidered the poem chosen for the quilt "United Flight 93", written by Belva Gray.
A second poem entitled, "Flight to Glory",written by Sue Ikerd & embroidered By Barbara Bussa and beautifully
encased in a rustic frame constructed by Larry Hoard was also presented to the Memorial.

The Flight 93 Memorial Quilt represents many aspects of our nation and its people. Incorporation of the US Flag
represents each individual aboard Flight 93 as being from all corners of our country which in a moment of terror,
banded together and fought against terrorists who attempted to take more lives on the ground. The quilt includes a
representation of United Flight 93 atop the Shanksville landscape. Photos are 5" X 7", their names embroidered.
May the families of Flight 93 find solace in knowing we shall never forget your loved ones, the Heroes of United Flight 93.

Many thanks to whom have assisted us in reaching out to families.
Carole O'Hare, Bill Doyle, Mary Fetchet and the Flight 93 Community
